Virginia Tech Division II Sweeps Randolph and Averett

DANVILLE, Va. — The Virginia Tech Division II men's lacrosse team capped off a successful day of competition with a pair of convincing victories, defeating Randolph College 9-3 and host Averett University 10-4.

The Hokies came out firing in both contests, establishing control early and maintaining their momentum throughout the day. Virginia Tech's offense was clicking, with contributions coming from up and down the roster as the team combined for 19 goals across the two games.

At the faceoff dot, freshman Ari Lewis and sophomore Brennan McCulloch turned in strong performances, helping the Hokies compete for possessions and establish their offensive rhythm. Their efforts provided an important spark for Virginia Tech throughout both games.

Defensively, the Hokies were equally impressive, surrendering just seven goals across the two contests. Goalkeepers Andrew North, Sam Wickline, and Declan Horan all delivered solid performances between the pipes, helping anchor a defensive unit that limited Randolph to three goals and Averett to four.

Beyond the final scores, the games provided another opportunity for Virginia Tech to showcase the progress it has made throughout the fall. The Hokies have continued to develop their chemistry, improve their execution, and build confidence as a team.

"I'm really proud of how far this group has come since the beginning of the fall," said Coach Reilly. "When we first got together, we had a lot of guys learning how to play with one another, figuring out our systems, and finding their roles. You can really see the growth now. Our chemistry is better, we're moving the ball well offensively, and we're playing for each other. What I liked most today was that everyone contributed. We got off to strong starts in both games and never really took our foot off the gas. That's the kind of consistency we want to build on."

The two victories were a fitting reflection of the work the Hokies have put in throughout the fall. With contributions across the roster and continued improvement on both ends of the field, Virginia Tech's Division II program has plenty to be excited about as it looks ahead to the spring.

Virginia Tech would like to thank Averett University for hosting the games and both Averett and Randolph for a great day of competition!
