Hokies Wrap Fall
Blacksburg, VA - The Virginia Tech Hokies battled the Liberty Flames to wrap up their fall ball in which the Hokies were victorious 17-7. The game was a battle from start to finish and the Hokies pulled away as their defense tightened down on the Flames and their offense was able to find some creases to finish. The Hokies were lead by Senior Danny Gaffney at the faceoff dot and Senior Will Eckert in goal.
This concludes the fall ball season for the Hokies. They were able to secure two wins and develop as a team as they prepare to defend their Atlantic Lacrosse Conference Crown. The team will begin their World Sixes league on Tuesday Nov 1.
"This was a strong fall for us." stated Coach Panchito Ojeda. "We have a lot of new players joining us and getting our team culture right was the main focus from the beginning. The way we ended demonstrated some big strides in our ability to play connected lacrosse. There is a lot of work to be done, but this fall was an excellent start."
The Hokies will announce their full schedule next week but they open the season on the road with a scrimmage against Southern Virginia University on Jan 28th.
