Hokies Sweep the Weekend: Division I and II Pick Up Big Wins as Playoffs Loom
Blacksburg, VA – It was a banner weekend for Virginia Tech Lacrosse as both the Division I and Division II teams secured dominant wins and positioned themselves for strong playoff runs in the Atlantic Lacrosse Conference (ALC).
Division II opened the weekend at home with a commanding 15–3 victory over William & Mary. The win secured the #2 seed in the ALC North Division II playoffs. With the regular season complete, the Hokies will now have a weekend off before returning to action on Easter Weekend, when they host Appalachian State in a pivotal ALC Quarterfinal matchup. A win would send the team to their first-ever ALC Final Four appearance.
Division I hit the road and picked up a crucial 15–11 win over Clemson in South Carolina. The victory pushes the Hokies closer to clinching the top seed in the ALC South Division and sets the stage for a major regular season finale against Tennessee on Friday, April 11 at 7:00 PM. The game will take place on the Marching Virginians Field and will determine the #1 seed and a first-round bye in the ALC Tournament.
Friday’s matchup will also serve as Senior Night, honoring the contributions and dedication of the program’s graduating student-athletes.
Fans are encouraged to come out and support the Hokies in what promises to be an electric night of lacrosse.
