Hokies Release 2022 Slate

by Panchito Ojeda

BLACKSBURG, VA - Coming off a strong season the Hokies have high expectations for the 2022 season and a schedule to match.  The Hokies open at home with a two game set against divisional foe East Carolina and out of conference opponent Western Michigan.

The Hokies then welcome 2019 National Champs South Carolina to town on February 18th.  The following weekend the Hokies welcome ALC foes West Virginia and Pittsburgh at home.

To kick off Spring Break the Hokies travel west to face SLC powerhouses University of Arizona and Arizona State in showdown of Top 10 opponents.  After a short break, the Hokies face a tough week with University of Buffalo coming to town on March 23 followed by trip to Tennessee on March 25 and a home game against Alabama on March 26.

The Hokies finish up down the stretch with a trip to ALC foe Clemson and a home match against NC State on April 8th.   The final week of the season will welcome two Top 10 opponents with Brigham Young and Liberty coming to Blacksburg.

"We wanted to challenge our team week in and week out," said Head Coach, Panchito Ojeda. "Coming off the challenges of COVID-19 which decimated 2020 and 2021, we are looking forward to a hard fought slate in 2022.  Our team is hungry to earn an Atlantic Lacrosse Conference title and return to the MCLA National Tournament."
