Hokies Advance to ALC Title Game

Blacksburg, VA - The #2 ranked Virginia Tech Hokies downed the Temple Owls 23-7 to an hard fought ALC semifinal. The Hokies advance to their second straight championship game and will play #3 Liberty University.

The Hokies started off hot scoring seven goals in the first quarter. However, the Owls wouldn't go easy as they battled back from a first quarter deficit to bring the score to 9-7 going into the second half.

To start the second half the Hokies were man-down, but a huge stop followed up by two quick goals got the Hokies and 11-7 lead. The Owls offense continued to pile on the pressure but the Hokies defense stood strong allowing zero third quarter goals while the offense score 4 more to lead to a 13-7 lead going into the fourth quarter.  

In the fourth the defense continued to play great and the offense moved the ball well generating multiple scoring opportunities en route to a 23-7 finish.  The Hokies had 19 different players register points while both William Eckert ('23) and Andrew Wickman ('25) played excellent between the pipes.

The Hokies faceoff tomorrow against Liberty University at 3pm for an ALC championship and automatic bid to the MCLA National Tournament.
