Division II Splits Weekend

Blacksburg, VA - The Hokies Division II squad split games with Wake Forest (8-10) and Stonehill (18-1).  A second straight 1-1 weekend.

On Friday night the Hokies went on the road into a hostile environment and game out of the gates firing.  Taking a first half lead and holding it for most of the half in this back and forth affair. 16th ranked Wake Forest didn't flinch and the game entered the break with a 5-4 lead.  

The third quarter was back and forth but ended up going into the fourth quarter with the Hokies trailing 8-7.  Despite their best efforts the Hokies were unable to close the gap and the Demon Deacons won the game 10-8.

On Sunday, the DII squad took on Stonehill.  The Skyhawks had battled ALC divisional foe to a 10-9 loss on Saturday.  The Hokies came out hot again jumping out to a 5-0 lead at the quarter break cruising to an 18-1 win.

The Hokies will be on the road to play Arizona on Saturday March 2 at South Lakes HS.
