2025 Virginia Tech Men’s Lacrosse | Division I Team Awards Announcement

As we close the book on another incredible season, we want to take a moment to recognize a few individuals whose contributions—both on and off the field—have left a lasting impact on our program. While lacrosse is always a team-first endeavor, these players stood out for their grit, growth, and embodiment of the values that make Virginia Tech Lacrosse special.

Here are your 2025 Division I Team Award Winners:

🏆 Dedication AwardCalum Wayer & Christian Edwards
The twin engines of work ethic and commitment. These two embodied consistency, leadership, and relentless effort every single day. Whether at practice, in the weight room, or on game day, these "brothers" set the tone.

📈 Most ImprovedJesse Fehmel
Jesse took a major leap forward this season, becoming a key contributor and a dependable presence on the field. His growth is a testament to his determination and willingness to put in the work.

🔥 Most Valuable PlayerAlex Ashley
Game in, game out, Alex was our engine. From massive goals to leadership in high-pressure moments, his presence elevated everyone around him.

🫡 Unsung HeroZach Taylor
Pickles did the dirty work without needing the spotlight. Whether it was grinding on the ride, scrapping for ground balls, or setting the tone defensively, he was a glue guy in every sense of the word.

🌟 Rookie of the YearEmmett Kelly
A dynamic addition to our squad, Emmett showed poise and fire beyond his years. Big plays, big energy, and a huge future ahead.

🎯 Leading ScorerAlex Ashley
Alex not only kept the ball out of the net—he found the back of it, too. His offensive firepower led the way for the Hokies this year.

💛 Spirit AwardPatrick Droney
The heartbeat of the locker room. Always upbeat, always supportive, and always bringing energy to the group—Droney was the pulse of the team.

🤝 Team First AwardLucas Bort
Selfless, dependable, and loyal to the cause. Whether on the field or the sideline, Bort was all about the team. He also had the thankless job of serving as Team President.
